A Conference with a Conscience

The Conference is to be held at Jones Bay Wharf, Sydney, Australia.
Developing EM 2012 is a multifaceted conference aimed at the senior emergency physician. The components include an academic program, optional sessions, practical activities and a social program.
Academic Program
The academic program will cover emergency medicine and critical care, paediatrics and trauma medicine. The presentations will aim to have a clinical and practical framework and will be delivered by senior physicians. The content of the presentations will be screened by the management team in order to produce a polished result in line with the aims of the conference.
Optional Sessions
Optional sessions include an ultrasound workshop and presentations on disaster medicine.
Practical Activities
A highlight of DevelopingEM 2012 will be a range of practical activities that will be unsurpassed by any conference this year. These include:
An introduction to the helicopter as a medical platform with an opportunity to experience static winching and flights over Sydney. This service is provided by one of our supporters Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service.
An introduction to wilderness rescue with a canyoning and abseiling experience in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
A surf survival experience hosted by the team from Bondi Rescue
Social Program
The social program includes a harbour cruise on the beautiful Sydney Harbour. Dinner presentations on experiences in Emergency Medicine in the Developing World will be sponsored by one of our supporters MSF Australia.
